Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 2026
TL;DR: ClearAnalytics does not collect personal data. We use no cookies, no fingerprinting, and no cross-site tracking. IP addresses are hashed with a daily-rotating salt and immediately discarded. All data stays in the EU.
Our commitment to privacy
ClearAnalytics is built on the principle that web analytics should not require collecting personal data. We provide website owners with valuable insights while fully respecting visitor privacy.
What we collect
When a visitor browses a website that uses ClearAnalytics, we collect:
- Page URL and referrer URL
- Browser type and version
- Operating system
- Device type
- Screen dimensions
- Country (from IP, then discarded)
- Language preference
What we do NOT collect
- IP addresses (hashed with a daily-rotating salt, then discarded)
- Cookies or localStorage tokens
- Fingerprints or device identifiers
- Personal data of any kind
- Cross-site tracking data
Visitor identification
We use a privacy-preserving hash to count unique visitors. The visitor's IP address is combined with their user agent and a daily-rotating salt. The resulting hash cannot be reversed to identify the original visitor. The salt rotates every 24 hours, making it impossible to track visitors across days.
Data storage
All analytics data is processed and stored exclusively on servers located within the European Union. We use isolated databases per customer (tenant) to ensure strict data separation.
Account data
When you create a ClearAnalytics account, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored securely hashed). This data is necessary to provide the service and is never shared with third parties.
Cookies
Our tracking script does not use cookies. The ClearAnalytics dashboard uses essential session cookies for authentication purposes only.
Data retention
Analytics data is retained according to your subscription plan. Account data is retained as long as you maintain an active account. You can request deletion of all data at any time.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Contact us at privacy@clearanalytics.eu to exercise these rights.
